Barbara J. Jackson, Ph.D., DBIA, is a Professor of Construction Management in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and Director of the California Center for Construction Education, an educational outreach organization that provides a bridge between industry and academia. Dr. Jackson spent 20 years in the construction industry working as a project estimator and senior project manager, and then was Founder, President, and Owner of Design/Build Services, Inc.

Specializations
Dr. Jackson’s areas of expertise are integrated project delivery, design-build project management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is a nationally recognized training consultant, project team coach, and speaker on design-build project delivery and high performance design-build teams. She also provides private consulting services and coaching to the industry.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Jackson is actively involved with the DBIA, and currently serves as the Chairman of the National DBIA Education Committee. She also hosts several DBIA Designate Boot Camps on an annual basis.
Awards
In response to her numerous accomplishments within the construction industry, the DBIA presented Dr. Jackson with the Design-Build Distinguished Leadership Award in 2000 and 2001, and the DBIA Distinguished Award in 2005.
